This summer, these birds will be looking for the insects and caterpillars they’ll feed their young, and then the seeds and berries their grown offspring will need. Your garden can provide those necessities. Don’t forget water!
PGAS’s Wildlife Habitat Program
Concerned about the loss of habitat for birds, pollinators, and other wildlife? Want to make a difference by creating beneficial and beautiful habitat on your own property? Need a jumpstart? Want to see a wildlife demonstration garden spreading the word in your own community?
This transformation took place at a home in Mount Rainier, MD. The “after” provides much more, for both wildlife and the human eye.
How can you participate? The habitat program has two parts, both working to create habitat and spread the word about its importance.
Sign up for a free garden consultation—volunteer habitat advisors will do an on site visit and help you make a plan to start transforming your outdoor spaces, whether you have a balcony or several acres, lots of gardening experience or none at all
Learn about our PRISM community garden program—maybe your community needs one! In 2022, we installed a model native demonstration garden in front of Joe's Movement Emporium We are happy to share our experience with other communities and organizations.
If you have wildlife gardening or naturalist experience, consider being trained as a volunteer habitat advisor.
